Ecomare offers a lot for families with kids. It is a fantastic day out for the entire family! Of course it’s great fun seeing the seals up close, but there is also a lot to learn about the beautiful coasts and seas of the Netherlands. In the large sea aquaria, you see what lives underwater. Kids entertain themselves in the water playground and along the children’s walk in the Dune Park; there’s so much to discover!

In the newest exhibit Wonderful Wadden Sea, you discover just how unique the Wadden Sea is. There was good reason to designate it as an UNESCO World Heritage Site. There are all kinds of interactive games that you can play together with your family. There is a lot to learn when you explore the Wadden City as a marine scientist. Even grandpa and grandma can learn something from it! In the Whale Hall, you literally walk among the enormous whale skeletons; did you know that large whale species also swim in the North Sea? We sometimes even see them swimming from the Texel beach.

No matter how good or bad the weather is, you can always visit Ecomare. There is a lot to see and do on the large outdoor terrace and when it’s warm, the kids have a great time playing outdoors. Enjoy eating an apple pie on the roomy terrace while watching the seals swim back and forth. And in the Sea Aquarium, the temperature is wonderfully constant the entire year. Is the weather not so good, rainy or very windy? No problem, you can spend hours inside discovering things and amazing yourself.
