Here you will find openings for volunteer and paid work. An enthusiastic team of involved people work at Ecomare. It is very nice to be part of this team! Do you want to join? See if there is something that suits you.
Volunteer work
Volunteers are a significant contribution in Ecomare. They are active in the museum and outdoor terrain. The Department for Animal Care doesn’t work much with volunteers. Caring for animals is work for professionals. However, volunteers do help the animal care department occasionally with cleaning the basins.
Educational attendant
Attendants help enliven the museum. They provide information and assist children in their discoveries in the sea laboratory. At the beach find cart, they answer questions and tell more about materials that wash ashore. Read more about this fun work (in Dutch).
Outdoor maintenance
Do you like cleanliness? Do you think you’d like to work between and for the animals, but not with them? Then maybe this is something for you! The work consists of light garden chores and cleaning up litter. You do it in the morning, before the visitors arrive. Only the porpoises and seals are watching. If this is something you’d like to do but only have time in the afternoon, then that is also an option. Don’t hesitate and get in contact to discuss all the options. A (Dutch) description of the chores and exchanges is listed here.
Paid jobs
Below you can find advertisements for paid staff. If nothing is listed, then there aren’t any openings at the moment. Open applications can be sent to Floortje Zijm, personnel department for the Stichting Texels Museum, Ruijslaan 92, 1796 AZ De Koog, floortjezijm@texelsmuseum.nl, 0031 222 317741.
